Lion King at Adrienne Arsht evacuated – Miami rain made appearance

This weekend it seemed like there was no escaping the rain. Even those that attended tonight’s performance of the Lion King at the Adrienne Arsht Center were not immune. The Lion King performance was cancelled at approximately 8:05pm, this happened during the second half of the show. This decision was made because of a flood in the lobby and upper tier levels – large amounts of water entered the property.

The lights went on and an announcement was made to a full house.

The crowd was instructed to evacuate the premises. The evacuation took approximately one hour and nobody was injured. Guests slowly made there way outside as they moved down the staircases.

The Lion King show features spectacular songs, dances, and theatrical imagery of Mother Nature and the circle of life. Clearly, this was one performance that will not be forgotten and the power of Mother Nature will always be respected.

According to the Adrienne Arsht Center the box office will accommodate patrons and the Lion King will perform again.

Saturday morning rain

J-Cat is a community theatre program that strives to entertain and teach – go experience the magic of live theatre, you’ll thank us.

J-CAT is the theatre educational arm of the Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center’s Rabbi Norman Mussman Cultural Arts Department

It is a year-round theatre arts program for youth, teens, and adults.

J-CAT initiates students of all ages to the magical world of theatre through a full season of productions, Summer Stock Theatre Camp, and a whole range of after school and evening classes in acting and technical theatre, and more.

J-CAT presents 6 productions during the theatre season with both Youth and Adult. Drawing upon community theatre roots, our actors and techies make up a volunteer ensemble that showcases their love and passion of theatre. ALL AUDITIONS are by appointment. Sunny Isles Skatepark in effect

Sunny Isles Beach opened a skatepark, giving local skaters a safe place to hone their skills, show off, have fun, and hang with friends. Aventura Mall or Aventura Museum

The epicenter of Aventura, in some circles, is the world famous Aventura Mall. This celebrated retail paradise has been a Grand Central Station here since it was constructed during the early eighties – people from all over the world collide and travel through the doors. Take a closer look and you’ll notice many striking art installations at key locations throughout the mall. This didn’t happen over night; as time passed the mall evolved into the brand it is today. Clearly, the owners at Turnberry Associates have a vision that guides a new retail experience offering guests at the mall a lifestyle and not just a place to spend money. This plan is most evident by Turnberry for the Arts, a cultural initiative that embraces the notion that art belongs where the people are and the people here are at the mall in Aventura.

The best way to visit the art collection is to vigilantly seek it out like a holiday sale. Start at one end and slowly navigate the streets of retail. If you’re less adventurous, you can always visit the concierge desk and ask for a list of the collection. You’ll quickly noticed the art surrounding a continuous retail experience as shoppers buzz around each piece of art, many without even noticing. If shopping isn’t your thing, wait for the next rainy day and visit the closest thing to a contemporary art museum in Aventura.

The artwork is located next to various destination locations of shopping and relaxing – perfect places to interact with the art. The artists come from a variety of backgrounds and embrace unique styles; however, research revealed that each artist, in some aspect, explores the concept of how people interact with art and how art can transform a space. This idea is being lived at the Aventura Mall as millions of guests store photos of the artwork in their minds’ eye – it’s the store next to the digital image of the walker, turn right at the eyeball chairs, meet me at the fountain with the sculpture inside. Even if guests don’t consciously take notice, the art installations offer a fresh look on our reality in the most unexpected places, a shopping mall.

The weekend is here and for many it’s a time to spend with family and friends to relax. In Aventura, it seems that this time with family and friends is best spent at the Aventura Mall. The Aventura Mall is packed with shoppers looking for sales, deals, and the latest high fashions. Let’s not forget about the Apple store – one of the busiest electronics shops in town and likely South Florida.

It’s tough to visit the Aventura Mall and to have a clear plan of what stores to visit first. The best way to have a positive shopping experience at the mall is to get a list of stores at the Aventura Mall and highlight the stores you want to visit. This way you and your friends or family has a shopping plan. Also, you might want to plan your parking spot based on the stores you plan on visiting, this way you don’t have to schlep your bags all around the mall.

If you are going shopping this weekend at Aventura, we hope you find this information useful. In addition to a list of stores at the Aventura Mall, there are several other considerations if you have a baby or you are in wheelchair. Moms need to know which bathrooms have changing tables and where the elevators are located (elevators are also important if you’re in a wheelchair).

There’s a great changing table in Bloomingdale’s first floor bathrooms by the Mall entrance. There’s an elevator to the right when entering the mall by Cheesecake Factory, there’s also one by Nordstrom and Macy’s.
This way you can take these needs into consideration when reviewing the Aventura Mall directory.

All this planning and shopping will make you hungry, so plan on lunch or dinner while at the Aventura Mall. There are many great options for dining in the mall – to keep it quick head to the food court. There’s also popular options like the Cheesecake Factory, Rosalia, and Bella Luna.
