City living can be pretty fantastic, and living in Aventura is no exception. This tropical metropolis is home to beautiful coastlines, amazing shopping, and delicious cuisine. There are walks to take, beaches to go to and plenty of other activities to do. However, for some there is one activity in Aventura that can be challenging to manifest – Gardening. Traditionally gardens are located in suburban or rural areas and finding a place to have a garden in the urban landscape of Aventura can be hard. In order to achieve the organic bliss of nurturing mamma nature in the city, it’s important to think up.

The majority of the towering buildings of that make up the city of Aventura are condominiums. Condominiums have terraces and terraces are an excellent spot to have a garden. This is especially common in luxury New York City palaces in the sky. Design Sponge did a great piece on NYC gardens and rooftop masterpieces – NYC Rooftop Gardens. Outdoor space is most New Yorkers’ ultimate real estate wish. We initially hunt for more light, bigger rooms and better locations, but even after you’ve found a great apartment, it’s impossible to not eventually hope for a place to plant a garden to sit outside. While the reality of an amazing rooftop garden feels about a hundred years away for me, for some New Yorkers, it’s sitting right in front of them. Rizzoli recently released a book full of those people’s homes called Rooftop Gardens: The Terraces, Conservatories, and Balconies of New York and I’m totally hooked.

Bringing it back local, when you’re driving East on William Lehman Causeway notice the rooftops of the Turnberry condos – there’s greenery in the sky. Also, The Biscayne Times Contributor Shari Lynn Rothstein-Kramer recently published an article titled A Garden in the Sky. She writes in the article about her of her love of gardening, her love of apartment living and her ability find a harmonious balance where she can do both. She states “It just takes a bit of imagination. In a vertical city, we don’t have any choice but to get creative if we want to accomplish the things that many of our suburban counterparts do without giving it a second thought.”

It’s remarkable to watch a tiny little seed grow in a beautiful flowering plant and for many there’s nothing like living in Aventura. Just because you live in a place where the earth is down below doesn’t mean that you have to miss out on the joy of gardening. If you live in a condo in Aventura try planting a terrace garden today. The crowd was instructed to evacuate the premises. The evacuation took approximately one hour and nobody was injured. Guests slowly made there way outside as they moved down the staircases.

The Lion King show features spectacular songs, dances, and theatrical imagery of Mother Nature and the circle of life. Clearly, this was one performance that will not be forgotten and the power of Mother Nature will always be respected.

According to the Adrienne Arsht Center the box office will accommodate patrons and the Lion King will perform again.

Today looks like it will be another rainy Saturday. Did you have plans of going to the park, beach, or hitting the tennis court? If so, those plans have likely changed.

According to an article in The Miami Herald, titled Broward gets Grant to Speed Fort Lauderdale-Aventura Bus Route, Broward Transit Systems recently acquired funds to explore technologies that will improve transit time. Soon it will make that much more sense to leave that car at home and take the bus. Already Miami-Dade and Broward Transit services have easy to understand tools to help you plan out your route to Aventura Mall. Once you get there be sure to take advantage of the Aventura Express Shuttle Bus Service. The shuttle bus service is a transit system, offered by the City of Aventura, that will connect you via multiple routes to exceptional shopping and all the places you need in Aventura. So the next time you’re planning a trip to the Aventura Mall, take some of the stress out of the journey and take the bus. You’ll shop much better and you’ll never have to remember where you parked!

As a new parent there is a lot of change that happens in your daily life. Now instead of a quick trip to the grocery store, you have to pack up yourself and your child and a quick trip turns into a much longer ordeal. Often when it comes to going out to eat or visiting local parks, it is important to know what accommodations they have for new moms and their new additions. Parents can bring in their own strollers to these locations or rent a stroller directly from the facility to limit the amount of gear that they have to bring in with them.

1. Aventura Grand Cove: The plaza that is home to Aventura’s Bagel Cove is currently undergoing a major renovation and construction. The free standing restaurant has been demolished to make room for Jared The Galleria of Jewelry. The parking lot is being reconstructed. There is complimentary valet parking and all businesses will remain open.

2. Loehmann’s Plaza Aventura: The sweet smell of Burger King fries, burgers, and shakes no longer pierces through the air of Loehmann’s Plaza. The BK building was demolished to make way for another bank in Aventura. PNC Bank will be on the North East corner of Biscayne.

3. Fresh Market Plaza: The plaza South of Fresh Market is being redeveloped. One of the new flagship tenants is Natuzzi, which will have a large showroom when their new space is complete. All stores are open during construction.
