Nike co-founder, Bill Bowerman said, “If you have a body, you are an athlete.”
Show kids the latest pair of Nike sneakers and they’ll think it’ll make them run faster, jump higher, mover quicker, and score that winning shot. It’s not because there’s magic dust in the soles, but rather this demonstrates the mental power necessary to persevere and overcome any obstacle – sometimes all it takes is just a little inspiration. Matthew Walzer, from Parkland, Florida, sparked that inspiration and raised the bar at Nike when he wrote down his thoughts in a letter a few years ago. #NIKELETTER
Matthew, like all athletes, pushed his physical boundaries to the limit and faced one last hurdle to overcome, tying his own shoes. Because he has Cerebral Palsy, this task is extremely difficult and seemed unavoidable considering his love for Nike shoes. When the letter was written, he was all about the Lunar hyper gamer and LeBron Zoom Soldier 6’s – these offered great style, support, and like all Nike shoes they make you feel unstoppable. It’s hard to keep that feeling when you need someone else to lace you up. His athletic drive, passion for sports, will to overcome challenges, and focus to set the mark even higher was recognized by Nike.
His #NIKELETTER addressed to Mark Parker, CEO went viral and propelled the creation of the ZOOM SOLIDER 8 FLYEASE.
It’s EPIC when social media is used for greatness… NiceKicks.com
