Man of Steel IMAX® at the Museum of Discovery and Science

When: June 15th & 16th 2013 from 12pm – 4pm

To celebrate the opening of the new IMAX film, Man of Steel 3D, there will be a weekend filled with special “Superhero” activities for the entire family.

Super Powered Animals

Some animals seem to have incredible powers. Investigate weight-lifting ants, heat-sensing pit vipers, indestructible water bears, virtually invisible cuttlefish, salmon magenetolocation and the stealth flight of an owl.

Engineered Super heroes

Humans don’t have super powers but we can achieve them with machines. Put your engineering skills to the test and build the amazing tools that give us the power of flight, strength and speed.

Make a Mask

Construct your own superhero mask to hide you identity while you make the world a better place.

Design a Science Hero

Create a superhero with a name and powers based on a branch of science and design a short comic book based on your heroic adventures.

Story Time

Gather ‘round for a reading of Michael Recycle by Ellie Bethel and Alexandra Colombo and see how you can become an environmental hero!

Members of will receive a special discount of $2.00 off the price of admission on Sunday June 16th. Download the Moms Aventura App for iPhone or Android and present it at the Museum of Discovery and Science to redeem discount.

The Museum is open seven days a week, 365 days a year; Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. with extended IMAX® hours on most evenings. General Admission prices are $19 for adults; $18 seniors; $15 children 2 to 12. Children under 2 are free. A General Admission Ticket includes admission to the Museum exhibits and one classic IMAX movie. The Museum of Discovery and Science is located downtown at 401 SW Second Street, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33312.
