Miller’s Fins & Fantasy for NFL Week 8

October 28th, 2012 · No Comments

Miami Dolphins (3-3) at NY Jets (3-4)
Sunday October 28th at 1:00 PM

Last week’s bye helped Miami. They leaped over the hated Jets. But the success experienced in the off-week may be ephemeral if the Fins can’t win H2H against their East Coast rivals. Have no fear finfans…

The Jets have been running the ball well lately, and that means strength vs. strength as Fins are still a Top 5 Run-Defense. But, will Miami be able to place pressure on QB Sanchez? Will they be able to prevent the big play? Will they succumb to Tebow’s talents? Answers: Yes, Yes, and No! The Jets’ O-Line is not what it once was, and without Holmes who burned Fins’ corners a few weeks back, only Stephen Hill is a slight concern, but Sean Smith can alleviate that. Not worried about TT Boy either, unless of course he supplants Sanchize as the starter (Sparano not smart enough to make that move).

On offense, Fins will do one thing right: run the damn ball. Reggie Bush is steaming from Fast Planes Maybin’s inflammatory statements and he’s now healthy and ready to tote the rock against a porous Jets run-D. Even Daniel Thomas is likely back from a concussion-sabbatical and can post some nice stats in this one. Cromartie will mostly blanket Hartline, but watch out for Bess and Fasano to put up a score between them.

I see a tightly played game through 3 quarters with the visiting Fins dominant late. And this time, Carpenter nails ‘em.

Prediction: Dolphins 20 Jets 16

QB: Cutler, Weeden, Wilson, Hasslebeck, Palmer, A.Smith

RB: Leshure, R.Jennings, A.Green, V.Ballard, D.Thomas, T.Dwyer, F.Jones, K.Hunter

WR: S.Smith (CAR), J.Gordon, R.Cobb, Avery, Gibson, D.Moore, L.Moore, S.Moss

Good Luck to All!
