Miller’s Week 8 NFL & Fantasy Picks

October 30th, 2011 · 4 Comments

Each week I will pick at least 5 games for which I have confidence in results against the spread. This week’s Top 5 high-to-medium confidence picks are below. Spreads are as of Saturday’s Herald. My Fantasy Recommended Starters follow (the non-obvious choices).

1. SF (-8.5) vs CLE (Only question is whether Browns will be shut out)
2. BAL (-13) vs. ARZ (Ravens an angry home team coming off unlikely loss MN)
3. NYG (-10) vs MIA (no Vontae Davis and O-Line injuries spell disaster for Fins)
4. N.O. (-13) @ STL (no Bradford again and Saints O red hot)
5. TEN (-8.5) vs IND (CJ2K will come alive and Colts O will be shut down)

Non-Obvious Fantasy Starters (*denotes the player was a one-time no-brainer every week). All defenses with good matchups are listed.

QB: Eli, Big Ben*, Dalton, Ponder, Flacco, Schaub, Fitzpatrick, Tebow, Hasslebeck, A.Smith, Cassel.

RB: Bradshaw & Jacobs, Mendy*, B.Scott, J.Stewart, P.Thomas & Sproles, Torrain, M.Morris, Moreno, CJ2K*, Murray, Battle.

WR: B.Marshall*, Manningham, Cruz, D.Branch, A.Brown, AJ Green, Harvin*, Torey Smith, J.Hill, JacobyJones, L.Moore, B.Lloyd, Stevie .Johnson, Burleson, Nate Washington, G.Little, Floyd.

TE: Fasano, H.Miller, A.Hernandez, Gresham, Olsen, Daniels, F.Davis, Pettigrew, J.Cook, Clark, Gates*.

DF (all): Giants, Bengals, Ravens, Saints, Bills, Lions, Titans, 49ers

hey eric, isn`t it true that the Chiefs are an awesome team at home, and impossible to beat at home on monday nights ?

That means the Chiefs beat san diego 24-13 …
    right ?

KC played to their potential at home but if not for a Pisarchik-type flub by Rivers in closing minute, SD would have likely won on FG. The NFL is unpredictable, isn’t it.

Chiefs play very well at home, but even with that in their favor, it took a flubbed QB snap-exchange to take away Chargers’ win in closing minute.
