Burger King no longer in Aventura

July 19th, 2011 · 32 Comments

Goodbye Whopper! It’s been at least twenty years that Burger King as been located on the corner of Biscayne Blvd. just North of Miami Gardens Drive. Seems like everywhere you turn in Aventura new shops and restaurants are opening. Not only that, there’s even construction going on and that’s not a common site these days. Around the corner from this former BK site, the Moe’s plaza exterior is being redesigned. Back to the Whopper, the only drive through food spot in Aventura is gone and nobody seems to care.

Burger King may not be the healthiest food around or be a trendy scene to hangout; however, it was a convenient low cost option for those on the run. Is anybody really on the run in Aventura? A city with a Whole Foods a few miles from a Fresh Market can likely survive without a Burger King. There has to be some Aventura Burger King fans that are mourning the loss, we’d like to hear from you. Let’s be honest, their french fries are amazing.

What’s next for that location? Does anyone have some good ideas? It’ll likely be a bank or a restaurant…but how about some original ideas?

You got to love the hand written sign in the window!

On average, higher prices for soda, 100 percent juices, starchy vegetables, and sweet snacks are associated with lower BMIs among children. In addition, lower prices for dark green vegetables and lowfat milk are associated with reduced BMI.

This seems to be a great location for a Panera Bread.

    1) panera bread
    2) sonic
    3) shake shack
    4) Buffalo wild wings
    5) carvel or ben and jerry`s

…….any of these would be great, but i`m not sure the blue hairs will support it !

No more chain food places, please! I hope a family-owned place with some character opens up, maybe a coffee place (Non-Statbucks).

Why do we need a Mcdonalds? We do not these unhealthy restaurants in our city. If people want that they could goo Hallandale or North Mami Beach. I like the Panera Bread idea, Nick!

i went thru for breakfast this am and just realized they were closed :( sometimes you just want a bacon egg and cheese croissanwich, and the lady at the pay window was always very warm and friendly. i’m sad to see the only drive-thru gone.

…and yes “aventura blog” HEAVY BURGER is the best. i think a panera bread is a good idea, hate to say i don;t want a family owned place, but i’d like to see the ones already existing remain before adding more, lots of independent businesses fail in aventura, there’s been an empty restaurant a block N of BK for 2+ years.
a frozen yogurt by the ounce place would be nice

  • 28 joey michelena // Jul 24, 2011 at 12:03 pm

    NO MORE BURGER KING ???

    OUCH !!!!

    THAT`S IT…I`M MOVING BACK TO HIALEAH !!

A Chick-fil-A would be great! Not one for miles around. Aventura needs at least one place to grab a quick bite to eat.

  • 31 Rachel // Mar 26, 2012 at 5:15 pm

A ChicFilA would be great!! There are not any for miles & any remotely close are all out West.
