Last week we showcased the film ‘The Last Exorcism’ and recommended this horror flick to our Aventura readers. This film is an exciting thriller that confirmed a successful horror film isn’t always about chainsaws, aliens, or psycho killers. Proving to be equally as entertaining and scary, Exorcism takes its audience on a journey deep into the minds of its main characters. This documentary style footage is a perfect balance between authentic impromptu investigative journalism and crafted Hollywood magic. Exorcism is well worth seeing in the theater – the box office numbers do the talking.
The two top performing films this past weekend were ‘Takers’ and ‘The Last Exorcism’. They were head to head at over twenty million, with ‘The Last Exorcism’ taking the lead. This week it will be a close battle for first place. The website Box Office Mojo gives a breakdown of the top earning movies and then reveals their production costs. When production cost is weighed against the box office earnings, ‘The Last Exorcism’ is way ahead of the competition. You do the math…
