Foodies and socialites from all over South Florida will descend on  Aventura this Thursday for the annual Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation Miami at the Fairmont Turnberry Isle.

Attendees will have the chance to sample dishes and drinks from top chefs and mixologists — and all to support a good cause.

The Examiner’s Christine Najac has the details: the night begins with a VIP champagne reception at 6 p.m., followed by the main affair at 7 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom.

Tickets don’t come cheap – but bear in mind that attendees will be sampling world class cuisine, and that all the proceeds go to support Share Our Strength’s campaign against childhood hunger.

Some of the local chefs participating include Chair Andre Bienvenu of Joe’s Stone Crab and Allen Susser of Chef Allen’s and Taste Gastropub.
