The Census 2010 has been mailed and recently Census workers have been hitting the pavement visiting properties all across South Florida. Aventura is no exception, many of the condos have been visited by Census workers. Recently, the Census had an issue entering a gated community in the area. The problem is believed to have been solved; however, let’s find a healthly balance to the Census vs. Security. Security should come first, that’s why communication is vital when dealing with gated communities – notice, identification, and approval should be part of the process if it’s not already.

In fact, Aventura Vice Mayor, Luz Weinberg, was quoted saying “Gated communities can pose a problem,” “It has more to do with the security staff not knowing any better.”  The recent Miami Heral article explained the situation, as Weinberg further stated…
