Aventura to Atlanta

July 26th, 2009 · No Comments

The road trip to Atlanta was a 10 hour drive from Aventura. We avoided all rush hour traffic by leaving at 6am. It was a smooth cruise to the Ritz Carlton at Buckhead. Never been to Atlanta, this city has got style. The hotel was the absolute lap of luxury with service that truly stands out. The guest services make you feel that you’re the center of attention at the Ritz Carlton.

We enjoyed their live Jazz in the bar and had a very tasty Mediterranean platter served with flavor packed olives and really great hummus. After this quick snack, we were invited to dinner at KYMA. This restaurant is an exciting Greek seafood tavern with a fun menu filled with authentic dishes and excellent wine pairings. We were treated to amazing seafood that tasted fresh from the sea. Their service was perfect and the live music created a lively scene.

The next day we toured the Atlanta History Center for a full day of walking tours. It’s located on the Inman family property and their former home is an attraction. It’s an amazing farm home that is well worth visiting. The stay in Atlanta was quick but a lot of fun.

We left Atlanta and headed to Helen, GA for a day of tubing down the river. A great day in the sun, water, and best of all no humidity. More to come as we traveled up the east coast to Asheville, North Carolina.
