Nicholas “Nico” Blachman, young Aventura resident, earned his spotlight in our blog because of his amazing accomplishments in ice hockey. Most Aventura kids spend their after-school time playing basketball, tennis, swimming, and other traditional South Florida sports – out in the sun. Nico loves the ice and focuses his energy on developing his ice hockey skills. He plays in a competitive league on the Golden Wolves team.
The Golden Wolves look to Nico for critical goals and team play. In fact, Nico understands the importance of working as a team to win a game and to create amazing results on the ice. It looks like it comes easy, but Nico works hard to get the results he achieves on the ice. We all know there is no snow in Aventura Florida, so this demands all practice time must be indoors. I’ve been told Nico pushes himself at each practice and even arrives to train at 5am on the ice.

It’s amazing to see a Aventura resident embrace ice hockey in such a warm climate. Maybe he’s on to something – why play in the sun all day and burn your skin? We’re sure that Nico will continue to impress us with his talents on the ice. It’s exciting to follow one of our young Aventura residents as he impresses the community with his skills, devotion, and determination to act as a team player.
Do you know Nico? Drop a comment and join us to congratulate him on a great season! We look forward hearing from you.

I´m Nico´s uncle from Argentina, thats why my english is quit poor, but I just want to say how proud I am when I read all of this comments. I can`t tell how he is as a player, I trust what I read, just saw him playing a few years ago and then could imagine that he would be great. But I can tell how great he is not only in Hockey. I`m proud on him as a person…in that sport I can tell he is the best!!!

Nico is my best friend, and I play hockey too. Although some times he thinks he is the hockey player alive. That annoys me, but I still think he is a great player!
