Recently we posted an article about the new restaurant to hit downtown Aventura. The Aventura restaurant that’s coming soon is Bar Rosso - an Italian restaurant and Vinoteca. This new hot spot will be a relaxed and friendly environment perfect for enjoying a bottle of wine with some friends together with a great meal. Mrs. Vino, the Bar Rosso voice, answered a few questions for us about this new restaurant in Aventura.

Q: Why Bar Rosso? Why now?
Mrs. V: There are enough places to eat in Aventura, but there really isn’t any place where locals can go any day of the week to meet friends, have a glass of wine, enjoy good conversation, eat amazing food, and just relax. That is what Bar Rosso brings that to the table (no pun intended).
 
Q: What is Bar Rosso all about?
Mrs. V: Bar Rosso is an Italian-style restaurant and Vinoteca. The chefs take simple, delicious, classic Italian dishes and put their own upscale twist on them. Naturally, there will be a substantial variety of wines by the glass (and the bottle). We’ll have South Florida’s premiere mozzarella bar, delicious desserts, and a culture that is so unique and exciting, it’ll keep people coming back time and time again.
 
Q: What exactly is a Vinoteca?
Mrs. V: It’s Bar Rosso’s interpretation on an Enoteca. It literally translates to “Wine Library” and that is what will offer. Lots of amazing Italian wines from various regions and producers (about 80 percent) as well as additional wines from other countries. There’ll be a mix of reds and whites including Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Brunello, Barbera, Dolcetto, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Gamay, Muscat, Trebbiano, and so much more. A special system was installed to properly preserve open bottles, which enables Bar Rosso to offer a significant selection of wines by the glass. The selections will change constantly, so there will always be something new to taste and enjoy.
 
Q: And the food?
Mrs. V: The food is the most important element of Bar Rosso. First and foremost, Bar Rosso is a restaurant. It serves Italian-style cuisine. Our chefs start with the classics, and then put their own spin on each dish. They look for seasonal items, focusing on organic ingredients form local providers. We are acutely aware of how important it is to be environmentally responsible. Whether it’s fresh mozzarella or organic beef; farm-fresh produce or any of our cheeses-we use the finest quality ingredients. And that translates into better tasting food. Our entrées are artfully presented and taste delicious. And our desserts are all one-of-a-kind. Again, our chefs’ interpretations of classics. And just when you’d think it would be mega-expensive, think again. Bar Rosso offers an exceptionally well-priced menu. There is a lot of value for what you get. That’s also what keeps locals and others coming back for more.
 
Q: Please describe Bar Rosso’s atmosphere?
Mrs. V: It is beautiful, but not intimidating. Inside, there’s a large bar, where all the wines will be on display for guests to choose from. There are tables for various size groups, but also a 20-seat communal table, where we’ll seat different groups of people together. That’s a big part of our culture; the mixing, mingling, eating, enjoying…it’s the Bar Rosso way of life. We have a mozzarella bar where heaping plates of a variety of dishes are on display for all to see, and there’s a 12-seat semi-private table. Here, guests can watch the chef preparing cuisine from the Exhibition Kitchen. The décor is warm and inviting with lots of wood infused with the color red. After all Rosso means red. The outside is called, “The Park”. For al fresco dining, we’ll have foliage lining the area’s perimeter, which will provide seclusion for the outdoor tables. The walls will feature photos of different parks from all over. It will be very subtle and pretty.
 
Q: Tell us more about Bar Rosso’s “culture”.
Mrs. V: Anything successful isn’t forced. It takes time to build a culture and we’ve got the fast track because the locals in Aventura have been craving a place where they feel comfortable, where they can come back day after day to meet friends, have a drink, unwind, relax, get a bite to eat and experience new things without too much change. That is what Bar Rosso is. It’s a meeting place, an upscale restaurant with a relaxed attitude. There’s no pressure to eat and get out. We want guests to come in for a glass of wine, move to a table for dinner, and head back to the bar for an after dinner drink, but all at their leisure. Food is love and our food is fabulous. Our staff is warm and service is personal. At Bar Rosso, our culture is such that we encourage the more you come back, the more you want to come back. It’s that simple.
 
Q: Where is Bar Rosso located?
Mrs. V: It’s right in the heart of downtown Aventura. It’s in the middle of all the action. It is walking distance from most of the condominiums and developments in Aventura, and so close to The Venture you could practically fall out of bed and land there! It’s close to all of Aventura’s best shopping, so it’s perfect for lunch or a quick post-shopping meal or cocktail-or both.
                               
Q: Do you have a website?
Mrs. V: Of course! It’s www.barrosso.com. It’ll be very interactive. Now you can join the Grazzi Club, once the site is launched you’ll be able to look through photos, add your own photos, download our calendar right onto your phone, and there’s a blog, too. Our blog will be a great source to learn about wine and food - we’ll keep it fun. It’ll always be changing and there’s so much information to keep people coming back time and time again.
 
Q: What kind of events does Bar Rosso host?
Mrs. V: We have so many events we want to do, we wish there were more days in the week! Actually, we are looking to do events including wine tastings, food and wine pairings, interactive cooking demos, speakers, fundraisers, benefits, and more. There are so many exciting ways to get people involved and give them a reason to come out. We are a big supporter of the Humane Society of Greater Miami - Adopt-a-Pet, and we’ll give a portion of proceeds from many of our events to this wonderful cause. We will work with other charities too, but this is our “pet” charity.
 
Q: Can Bar Rosso be used for private events?
Mrs. V: Absolutely! We can do anything from a semi-private dinner party at the Chef’s Table to an entire restaurant buy-out. We can rent the outdoor Park area as well. We encourage corporate events, meetings (lunch or dinner), Christmas parties, anniversary or birthday bashes.
